The Olds & District Chamber of Commerce is searching for nominees for its annual Small Business Awards.
Murray Elliott, Chair of the Small Business Awards Gala, encourages community members to nominate local businesses for an award in one of more than a half dozen categories. He says “well they have to show that they go above and beyond in each of the categories. You can grab a physical piece of paper at the newspaper office or you can go online to the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce website. It explains in detail the requirements and they are pretty easy to fill out and it is not that time consuming. So if you see a business or a youth of the year, any of the categories: Community Spirit, People’s Choice. Please feel free to fill them out and submit.”
See the full list of categories and criteria for the Small Business Awards on the Olds Chamber’s website OldsAlberta.com.
He says they have had a few responses so far but they will be extending the deadline for nominations from August 15th until September 6th.
Once the nominations are compiled the nominees for the awards will be announced at the Chamber’s annual Business, Beer, and Blue Jeans event on September 25th at the Olds College Werklund Agriculture & Technology Centre.
The Small Business Awards Gala will be held at the Olds Royal Canadian Legion on October 24th.
