Murder Charges Laid, Search For Second Suspect Continues After Shooting In Rocky View County

A tragic shooting in Rocky View County has now resulted in charges being laid by the Alberta RCMP.

A 35-year-old Edmonton resident, Arthur Wayne Penner, is charged with first-degree-murder of an Airdrie resident, Colin John Hough, as well as attempted murder of another individual.

The accused has been arrested and remanded into custody with his next court date slated for August 15th in Airdrie.

The search for the second suspect in the shooting continues. Police say a 28-year-old man now has a warrant for his arrest for the second-degree-murder of the Airdrie resident.

Mounties are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Elijah Blake Strawberry who is described as having a light complexion, with several arm and face tattoos. He is 6 foot 1, weighs 169 pounds, and has brown hair.

Police say Elijah Strawberry is considered armed and dangerous. The public is asked not to approach him, and to call 911 immediately if he is spotted.

Alberta RCMP are still seeking help from the pubic with video footage and information surrounding this shooting incident on August 6th.

Strathmore RCMP had received a report of “two men who had been shot while doing work along a roadway on Township Road 250 and Range Road 281 in Rocky View County. Upon arriving on scene, emergency crews discovered that Colin Hough and a 39-year-old victim had been shot during an attempted robbery by two, then unknown individuals.” The 39-year-old victim suffered superficial wounds, according to RCMP.
