Mountain View County council approved a sewer line repair request for the Cremona Arena at last week’s meeting.
Jeff Holmes, the County’s Chief Administrative Officer, says the repairs are to be funded from the Cremona Intermunicipal Collaboration Reserve.
Holmes notes the sewer line repair work is actually completed and the County is just helping the Village retroactively fund it. He says “it was critical for the arena and the sewage flow from the arena to connect into the main system. So it was an essential repair.”
He discusses the important and significant intermunicipal relationship between Mountain View County and the Village of Cremona. Holmes says “we do maintain active ongoing dialogue with the Village through our Intermunicipal Collaboration Committee, which is where this recommendation came from today.”
Holmes adds, Mountain View County has a program in place to assist Cremona with infrastructure needs within the Village that support both rural and urban matters.
The County approved just under $16,000 dollars for the project, which he says is 80 per cent of the repair costs for the Cremona Arena sewer line connection.
