RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery this week at the Sylvan Lake CIBC.
It happened at about 2:45pm on Wednesday and the bank is located at 5007 50th Street in Sylvan Lake.
According to police, witnesses reported seeing a lone male dressed in reflective safety clothing enter the bank armed with a crow bar.
The suspect is described as standing about 6 feet tall, wearing a mask, dark sunglasses, and high visibility construction type clothing. He was riding a BMX style bike.
Sylvan Lake RCMP say the suspect had demanded that the clerks “surrender over any available monies” before fleeing the bank on foot. He was seen last riding away on a mountain bike.
Mounties note that no one was physically injured during the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
