50th anniversary open house for ASC on September 7

Accredited Supports to the Community is celebrating a huge milestone tomorrow.
Join them from 11 until 3pm on Saturday, September 7th for their 50th anniversary open house at their location at 4318 50th Avenue.
ASC’s Executive Director Dana Wild points out that they are a not-for-profit charity that has been serving Olds and area since 1971 and they have been incorporated since 1974. For the open house, Wild says “we will have showcase tables set up for each of our service programs, so that people can learn a little bit more about ASC and what services we do offer.”
For them as an organization, Wild notes that their Bottle Depot operates as a social enterprise. She says “where by, any extra revenue over their operating expenses are used by Accredited Supports to support our non-contract funded areas of our service – such as  providing accessible transportation to our clientele, building maintenance, as well as building maintenance for the 24 hour residential service housing that we have for adults with developmental disabilities.”
Nathan Cooper, the MLA for Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills, mentions that Accredited Supports to the Community does such a wonderful job helping folks feel included in our community. She says “for 50 years, they’ve been making an impact on the lives of their clients and also enriching our community. I am so excited to be able to be there and visit with them and celebrate such an incredible milestone.”
Wild notes the Bottle Depot will be open for business during ASC’s 50th anniversary open house tomorrow and they will be providing tours of the facility and showcasing the newly installed automated equipment. She says “outside we will have a trivia bingo card. So as people are circling around and completing their bingo card, their card can be entered into a draw for some door prizes and, of course, we will have some snacks and drinks available, and some games and face painting for those who want to have a little bit of fun while they are there.”
She adds, the Bottle Depot gives back to the community in multiple ways including offering easy fundraising options in the form of bottle drives for our local groups and charities, sports teams, schools, and more.
ASC has offices and services in Olds, Airdrie and Strathmore focusing on rural service delivery in those communities and surrounding areas. Learn more online.
