National Rail Safety Week is coming up later this month.
Didsbury Mayor Rhonda Hunter points out that as a community with a CPKC rail line running through the middle, council discussed the importance of featuring National Rail Safety Week during council’s meeting on Tuesday, September 10th. She says “rail safety week educates the public about how to be safe around tracks and trains in an effort towards making Canada’s rail network even safer.”
Every year the CPKC Police Service partners with Operation Lifesaver, the rail industry, government, first responders, educational institutions, and community groups to highlight safe practices around railway property.
National Rail Safety Week will take place from September 23rd through the 28th.
