Public engagement session for Olds Men’s Shed and Community Arts Hub on September 19

The Town of Olds recently announced the development of two new community spaces.

A new Men’s Shed and a Community Arts Hub will potentially be located at the former Town of Olds Operations building at 4826 51st Street.

According to a media release, these two new initiatives aim to foster community connection, creativity, and mental well-being through shared activities and a welcoming environment.

Michelle Jorgensen, Community Facilitator with the Town of Olds, explains more about The Men’s Shed. She says “Men’s Shed is an international initiative with a focus on providing a casual supportive space for men to connect, socialize, and work on meaningful projects. Whether it’s woodworking or bike repair, it’s all about building connections and boosting mental well-being.”

Jorgensen notes that a Community Arts Hub would offer a vibrant space where local artists could gather, create and share their talents with the community.

Community members are invited to check out the potential new community spaces when a public engagement session is held at 4826 51st Street on Thursday, September 19th from 3 untill 7pm.

The public engagement session will include hot dogs and it will provide an opportunity to learn more about the project, give feedback, and discover how you can be involved in the Men’s Shed and the Community Arts Hub.
