The Director of the Community Lending Shelf says there is a big demand for kids coats and adult coats in the Town of Olds and Mountain View County this fall.
Lucinda Watkins says they have adopted the Coats For Everyone program this year and they are operating as one organization.
Watkins notes that they started out with quite a few coats and after being open a few days, she noticed there were so many people coming in for coats. Watkins says “so people can donate. We have a 24/7 drop off bin at the Olds United Church. They can drop off their coats anytime or they can come in the hours that we are open and then we take those coats and just give them to anybody who needs them. There is no cost involved and no requirements. You can come in and grab a coat that you need, anybody can.”
Drop off coats and boots, hats and scarves, and mitts as well at the United Church located at 4810 50th Street. There is a big metal bin on the east side of the building. Right now they are a little bit low on adult sizes.
Watkins says to check out the Community Lending Shelf Facebook page because they regularly post their hours on there each week.
She points out that they appreciate the community and all the donations that come in to help make sure everyone that needs coat, has one.
