The Olds Grizzlys earned their first point at the U18 Tier 2 Provincials on Friday afternoon at the SportsComplex.
The host team from Olds built up a 3 to nothing lead and then hung on for a 3-3 tie versus the Fairview Falcons yesterday.
Dax Walker, Landon Erick, and Hunter McDonald scored for the Grizzlys. Erick had a 2 point game as he also added one assist.
Colin MacDougall made 53 saves for Olds. The Falcons outshot the Grizzlys 56-34.
Olds has a record of oh-1-and-1 so far. The Grizzlys final Pool A preliminary round game is against the 2 and oh Vegreville Wranglers and live coverage can be heard on 96.5 CKFM this afternoon at 1:30.
Vegreville beat Fairview 6-4 on Thursday before getting past the Glenlake Hawks 2-1 on Friday.
Hockey Alberta’s U18 Tier 2 Provincial banner will be handed out following the championship game which is set for 4pm on Sunday, March 31st at the SportsComplex.
