Wednesday, October 16th was by-election day for Division 4 in Mountain View County.
Two candidates were running for the vacant seat at the council table and the unofficial results were tabulated last night at the County office.
A total of 349 votes were cast in the by-election and the unofficial results show Tiffany Nixon winning by 33 votes. She received 191 votes while Sean LaBrie received 158.
Mountain View County passes along its gratitude to all the voters who participated and the candidates for their commitment to serving the community.
Returning Officer Christofer Atchison says the results will become official on Sunday, October 20th at noon.
Division 4 includes Elkton/Rugby, Westcott; parts of Fallentimber, Bergen, Harmattan and Westerdale.
According to Mountain View County, this by-election was necessitated by the resignation of former Councillor Gord Krebs this summer, and the new Councillor will serve until the next municipal election which is slated for October 2025.
