Alberta Health Services is marking National Addictions Awareness Week, November 24th through 30th, by reminding Albertans that there is information, advice and resources available to help you or others with substance use or addiction concerns.
In a news release, AHS is reminding Albertans to take advantage of 24/7 supports like the Mental Health Helpline at 1-877-303-2642 and the Addiction Helpline at 1-866-332-2322.
Additionally, you can also call 211 or text INFO to 211 for services in over 170 different languages.
The Indigenous Support Line is also available at 1-844-944-4744, Monday to Friday from noon to 8 p.m. That resource is available for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples, to answer questions and support culturally appropriate care.
Several free wellness courses are available to help Albertans learn coping skills, reduce stress and build healthy connections.
