The Ropes ‘N Reins 4-H Club is making preparations ahead of their annual Food Drive on Saturday, November 30th.
Ropes ‘N Reins is a light horse 4-H club based out of Didsbury with about 15 members.
Young agriculture enthusiasts will be going door to door in Didsbury this weekend, looking for donations of canned or non perishable food items for the Mountain View Food Bank.
Ropes ‘N Reins 4-H Club Reporter, Presley Elliott, has been in 4-H for 3 years and provides more details.
“Our annual community service project is our community food drive. It’s scheduled for Saturday, November 30th from 1 to 4 P.M. We will be donating all the food collected to the Mountain View Food Bank. We’ll be coming around the town of Didsbury door-to-door, picking up donations. We will also have a table set up at Save-On-Foods Didsbury, in the foyer, if anyone wants to drop off donations.”
Elliott says it’s important to support the food bank, especially at this time of the year.
“The Mountain View, Food Bank provides an important service to members of our community who need help with securing food. The Christmas season is a busy time for the food bank and we need to make sure their shelves stay full.”
Watch for young 4-H members out and about on Saturday afternoon, Elliott explains how you can help them out.
“When we come around to collect food, please have your donations ready. If you’re unable to be there, leave them on your step for us to pick up. We are looking for non-perishable items, like canned goods and other items that are easy to store.”
The Ropes ‘N Reins Annual Food Drive will go on Saturday afternoon between 1 and 4 in Didsbury, donations can be made at Save-On-Foods as well.
