The Mountain View Hospice Society will be gathering with individuals in the community this week in remembrance of those who we have lost.
Executive Director Mary Marshall says their Tree of Remembrance Ceremony is on Friday, December 6th at 7pm in Olds at the gazebo at Centennial Park.
She points out that you can purchase a star for $20 dollars from the Mountain View Hospice Society office in Uptowne Olds. Marshall says “this is one of my favourite events for the Mountain View Hospice Society. I really truly feel the healing energy of gathering together. I’ve had several people I’ve lost in the last few years and just the strength of the community and just sitting in remembrance of those that I’ve lost I feel I honour them. It is a truly special event for me personally as well.”
Marshall notes they also have a Tinsel and Tears event on Thursday. She calls it a education session on grief and bereavement.
For more information on this Thursday’s Tinsel and Tears event or Friday’s Tree of Remembrance Ceremony visit the Mountain View Hospice Society’s website or Facebook page.
Marshall says you can also stop by and visit them at their location at 5026 51st Street in Olds.
