The annual initiative for Alberta RCMP and law enforcement agencies in the province to try and reduce the theft of idling cars and trucks during the winter took place last week.
Between January 20th and 24th, participating agencies counted over 500 unlocked vehicles that were left idling with the keys in the ignition. Another nearly 1,300 locked vehicles were left idling with the keys in the ignition during the week as well.
