Net yourself a big win by registering now for Olds Minor Lacrosse.
President Joe Berreth says early bird registration continues until February 15th and it offers the chance to save $50 dollars off the cost of signing up for the season.
Berreth describes what the time commitment looks like for minor lacrosse in Olds. He says “usually we have – for all age groups – about two practices per week with games on the weekend and the odd tournament throughout the season. Our season starts mid-April and runs until end of June. We’re hoping to find some floor time in March, so we can start practices a little bit earlier this year.”
Berreth hopes to have a full league this year from U7 up to U17 for the Olds Minor Lacrosse Association – and with two U13 teams.
Meanwhile, he points out that there is a ‘try-it’ night coming up this Friday from 3:30pm until 6:30 at Holy Trinity School for any kids wanting to experience the fast paced game that is lacrosse. As far as equipment needed goes, he says “just indoor running shoes and a helmet. If you’ve got your hockey gloves they can be worn. If you don’t have a stick, we will supply a stick.”
Parents wanting to learn more information about the sport are invited to the ‘try-it’ night as well. Contact the club via email: oldslacrosseinfo@gmail.com or visit the website OldsLacrosse.ca to register for this season.
