The annual Hike for Hospice is coming up on Sunday, May 5th.
Mary Marshall, Executive Director with the Olds & District Hospice Society, says for 2024 they will be holding a pair of hikes again – one in Olds and one in Didsbury. She says “We were incredibly happy (in 2023). We probably had about 30 people in total come out to the Didsbury hike, which we thought was a great result. Then in Olds we usually have between 100 and 130, so that was very consistent.”
She points out that their goal for this year is to raise $25,000 dollars. In 2023 together they raised over $30,000 dollars for hospice palliative care in Mountain View County.
Marshall says this year the theme for the Hike for Hospice is super heroes. She adds, there will be prizes for the best costume, and there are also prizes for the top fundraiser.
The hike in Olds starts on Sunday at 9:30am at the Holy Trinity School, while the hike in Didsbury also starts at 9:30am. It will begin at the Didsbury Train Station.
