The first Foothills Cowboy Association rodeo of the 2024 season took place during the Victoria Day long weekend.
Unofficial FCA winners from the Caroline Bighorn Stampede included Jace Lomheim in bareback, Nash Loewen in bull riding, Blain Pengelly in saddle bronc, Trey Erion in tie down roping, Blake Zieffle in steer wrestling, the tandem of Brodie McBride and Justin Buhler in team roping, Mellissa Resch in ladies barrel racing, and Madison Levangie in ladies breakaway roping.
Other unofficial FCA winners at the Bighorn Stampede included Ty Amen in men’s ranch broncs, Jace Lomheim in novice horse riding, Josh McCartney in junior steer riding, Glen Erickson in junior bull riding, Justin Kronschnabi in junior breakaway roping, Maggie Cartwright in junior barrel racing, and Kayla Boxma in pee wee barrel racing.
Coming up in June are the next two tour stops for the Foothills Cowboy Association.
The 47th annual edition of Pete Knight Days at the rodeo grounds in Crossfield are coming up on June 7th and 8th.
The 70th annual Water Valley Stampede is planned for June 8th and 9th five miles west of Water Valley.
