The Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement Rodeo took place last weekend in Caslan, Alberta.
It was the lone event of the week for the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association.
CPRA winnners in the major events there included Brett Williams from Nanton in bareback, Chase Tkach from Coronation in steer wrestling, the tandem of Brady Tryan from Montana and Calgary Smith from Oregon in team roping, Kyle Wanchuk from Sherwood Park in saddle bronc, J.T. Adamson from Nebraska in tie down roping, Lynette Broadoway from Brooks in barrel racing, Kyle Brown from Didsbury in bull riding, and Chelsea Moore from Cochrane in breakaway roping.
There are three tour stops for Pro Rodeo Canada cowboys and cowgirls this week.
The Grande Prairie Stompede runs from Thursday, May 30th to Sunday, June 2nd. The Leduc Black Gold Rodeo is a Thursday to Saturday event and the Hand Hills Lake Stampede is a two-day show on Saturday and Sunday in Craigmyle, Alberta.
