70th Annual Water Valley Stampede On June 8-9

A milestone edition of the Water Valley Stampede is coming up this weekend.

Chris Montgomery, President of the Water Valley Stampede Association, is excited to celebrate their 70th anniversary. He says “It’s pretty crazy, been going on for a long time and people just keep coming so we’ll just keep putting it on. Well, super nice of course we had nice rain so it is all nice and green. Crews got out there cut all the grass so it is a real nice camping spot. So if you are in for it come on out. Free camping with paid admission.”

The Foothills Cowboy Association rodeo performances are set for 1pm on both Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th. All the action takes place 5 miles west of Water Valley. He says “We are trying out some cashless payment, but we’re not sure it is going to work yet. The service out there is super shaky, so I just encourage folks to bring cash because that is king.”
