Bighorn Wildfire Is Now Classified As Being Held: Mountain View County

The Bighorn wildfire is now classified as being held.
Its status was updated by Mountain View County in a media release this morning (July 29th).
As of late in the evening on Sunday (July 28th), the County notes that “the wildfire, which has been a concern for our region, has officially changed its status from ‘out of control’ to ‘being held’, according to Alberta Wildfire. This status indicates that, given the current resources and anticipated weather conditions, the wildfire is expected to remain within its pre-determined boundaries and is not anticipated to expand further.”
Residents can check out the Mountain View County website, mobile app, and official social media channels for the latest details. For those who have ongoing concerns or need assistance related to the wildfire, contact the County via email at emergency@mvcounty.com or call 403-335-3311.
