Canada’s oldest one-day rodeo has been running since 1914 and another edition of it took place over the weekend.
The Canadian Pro Rodeo Association’s cowboys and cowgirls went to Bruce for the Bruce Stampede on Sunday, July 28th.
Unofficial winners included Stawbs Jones from Duffield in bareback (88.5 points), Landen Beardsworth from Red Deer County in steer wrestling (4.7 seconds), the duo of Kolton Schmidt from Barrhead and Landen Glenn from Oklahoma in team roping (5.1 seconds), Bryan Huey from New Mexico in saddle bronc (87 points), Ben Robinson from Red Deer County in tie down roping (8.0 seconds), Tana Millard from Red Deer County in barrel racing (17.32 seconds), and Cecil Baynton from Saskatchewan in junior steer riding (77 points).
There was a tie for top spot in bull riding at the Bruce Stampede. Beau Gardner from Arrowwood and Tyler Craig from Crossfield both posted 85 point rides.
The CPRA has four events this week in Alberta with stops being made in High Prairie, Stettler, Strathmore, Grimshaw. Also this week is the Pile O Bones Pro Rodeo on Thursday and Friday in Regina, Saskatchewan.
