The Sundre Petroleum Operators Group once again invites the community to join them at the Sundre Arena.
SPOG’s Executive Director Tracy McCrimmon says they are moving into their 30th year of hosting Neighbours Day, so they are very excited.
She notes the theme for this year is on emergency management focusing on fire and floods. McCrimmon says “well we’ve seen the concerns with wildfire here in the past and, you know, we typically have our concerns with flood in the spring. We were lucky this year that we had an appropriate amount of moisture to a lot of keep the fires at bay at least for a while, until we moved into summer. It is a very important and trending issue that has been going on in our community here over the last several summer seasons.”
SPOG’s Neighbours Day Trade Fair & Expo runs from 8am until 3pm this Friday at the Sundre Arena.
There is pancake breakfast, beef on a bun lunch, a petting zoo, axe throwing, live music, and a demonstration by the Sundre Fire Department.
McCrimmon expects a full house with close to 50 or just over 50 vendors. She says “it is an opportunity to bring community and industry together. We have some great industry and community partners coming to join us. We have a full capacity for booths this year. We always love to have the opportunity to partner with community based activities with Bulls & Wagons. Again, just looking forward to a really great opportunity to connect with the community.”
