The Mountainview Colts (13-11-5) had an all-winning weekend in the Heritage Junior Hockey League.
Haiden Parks from Carstairs was the overtime hero as the Colts won 3-2 in extra time on Friday, January 19th in Airdrie (8-19-3). As heard on 96.5 CKFM on Saturday, Mountainview defeated Red Deer (9-21-0) 5-1 in Didsbury. On Sunday in Ponoka (1-30-0), the Colts outscored the Stampeders 9-3.
Forward Steven Bell (2002) from Olds stepped away from the team in October but he made his return to game action on January 5th as the Colts began the 2024 portion of their current campaign.
Bell extended his goal scoring streak up to 4 games and his point streak up to 7 games by notching one goal versus the Stampeders.
With 9 games remaining in the regular season, Mountainview is now in second place in the HJHL’s Northern Division – two points ahead of the third place Rocky Rams (13-14-3).
The Colts will be at home for games this Friday against Red Deer, and Saturday versus High River (13-14-3). 96.5 CKFM will have live play-by-play coverage from the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Saturday at 8pm.
